with buying and friendship...
I have known the producer of the Diana 2 for over 15 years. He was designer of the Polish gliding factory PZL SZD which collapsed 2000. He bought the licence for Diana 1 SZD-56 and started his own business with the Diana 2 SZD-56-2 project.
Diana 1 production started in 1990 and was introduced to the flying community in 1991 during the World Gliding Championship in Uvalde (USA). A few top Polish pilots took the glider for national and international contests in European and the World Championships with results that didn’t spark the interest of the gliding community.
For the 1998/99 season I offered Mr. Bogumil and his PZL SZD, to use Diana 1 on a Kangaroo Expedition in
During the season I achieved 14 new World records and you can find by yourself on the Internet how this was appreciated.
PZL SZD director Jerzy Oleszkiewicz offered to sell the Diana 1 "PV" to me because the factory was in bankruptcy. The company limited their warranty service on the glider to 200 hours flying time but only with inspections at the factory premises. This condition was not acceptable since the glider was to be used in

On video shot is air-brake's gear box
of Diana 2 SZD-56-2 s/n 3.
As you can recognise, moving with the air-brake bar is from beginning possible only with the part of gear box fixed on bar.
Second one fixed on to wing console is not transmitting movement in to the cockpit (from the cockpit) control immediately. Here start the free of movement air-brake syndrome because both basic parts of gear box mechanism were produced in factory wrong.
The design is prohibitive an adjustment of gear box mechanism because both gear box parts are firmly laminated (fixed) in to the wing console.
The repair would be bigger job for an expert and I don't think that producer will be happy with it when he is thinking that customer can't change just tape on the wings... If it was not done :)

something as
free movement of air-brakes gear boxes
builds in to wing consoles
is customer's fault

On the video shot is demonstrated
effect of this free movement gear box on air-brake
on the ground.
Air-brakes have to work (move) synchronise for few reasons having something to do with safety...
This shot is showing shaking with glider on speed 80km/h in first part
and
airbrakes blocking during the flight on speed 100 km/h.
This test flight was done to document for australian engineer
the glider shaking after air-brakes opening.
Each air-brake was "free of movemend" means when unlocking airbrakes it stayed sucked on the wing. If the gentliest movement continue the effect is visible on the shot in cockpit.
What happen when it will be done away from airfield, somewhere above desert?
Answer from producer was that normaly pilots are using air-brakes before landing only...

Nice work. In southern California, in the desert just north of Los Angeles, there is an area where one can rent gliders. Big fun.
I came across your blog while blog surfing using the “next blog” button on the Nav Bar of blogger.com. I am continually fascinated by the types of blogs that exist on the Internet, and the various, creative ways in which people all over the globe express themselves. Thanks for sharing.
My blog is dedicated simply to making people think differently about societal issues. As I often tell people, instead of encouraging people to believe that there are 2 or 3 ways to look at something, I want them to realize that there are at least 27. Hopefully such an approach will result in more creative, innovative solutions to societal ills. Have a visit should you like, and subscribe for updates should you like the substance:

Thank you very much for your words.
Gliding is great think - big fun - till this time when all around are responsible for this what they are doing. Pilot when he is flying, tug pilot when is towing, ground engineer when is checking your glider and producer, when is producing the glider. Aviation is about responsibility.
I just started this blog, completing documentation and writing. Pleased that it was you who first time found this blog! It is symbolic for me... Somebody from “It’s Your Turn” ™ team...
Please I visited your blog and tell you you are doing great job and I hope they will find you ever... Can I use some of your words when I will publish this case?
All the best and thanks Hana
